At Liberty Point Baptist Church, our beliefs are grounded in God’s Word and expressed through unity, liberty, and love. We stand firmly on the essentials of the Christian faith while extending grace in areas where faithful believers may differ. Above all, we strive to reflect the heart of Christ in everything we do.
We hold firmly to the foundational truths of the Christian faith, as taught in Scripture:
“There is one body and one Spirit… one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all.”
—Ephesians 4:4–6
These essentials form the unshakeable center of our faith.
We recognize that sincere Christians may hold different views on some issues. In these areas, we extend freedom without judgment:
“…each of us will give an account of himself to God… Whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.”
—Romans 14
We seek to maintain the unity of the Spirit while allowing room for personal conviction.
Love is the supreme mark of Christian maturity:
“…but have not love, I am nothing.”
—1 Corinthians 13:2
Everything we believe and practice must be carried out with grace, humility, and Christlike love.
Liberty Point Baptist Church is joyfully in agreement with the
Baptist Faith & Message 2000 of the Southern Baptist Convention.
This includes these core doctrines:
The authority and inspiration of Scripture
The Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
The full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ
Salvation by grace through faith
The church as the body of Christ
Believer’s baptism by immersion
The Lord’s Supper as a symbolic ordinance
The mission to share the gospel with the world
The return of Christ and hope of eternal life
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired and infallible Word.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God…” —2 Timothy 3:16
It guides every decision, belief, and practice in our church.
Every local church is self-governing under the leadership of Christ alone.
“And He is the head of the body, the church…” —Colossians 1:18
Every Christian has direct access to God and is called to ministry.
“…a royal priesthood… that you may proclaim the praises of Him…” —1 Peter 2:9
We give generously and joyfully to support God’s work.
“…a tithe… belongs to the LORD; it is holy…” —Leviticus 27:30
We practice believer’s baptism by immersion, following the New Testament example.
“…buried with Him in baptism and raised with Him…” —Colossians 2:12
We depend daily on the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
“He who abides in Me… bears much fruit.” —John 15:5
Every Christian is called to share the good news of Jesus.
“Always be prepared to give an answer… for the hope that you have.” —1 Peter 3:15
Everything we believe points to this truth:
Jesus Christ changes lives.
We exist to worship Him, grow in Him, and make Him known in our community and around the world.
